Piano Recitals and Chamber Music
Concerts on the Fortepiano (Hammerklavier)
Collaboration with various orchestras has led Christian Bauschke to Canada, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
He performed numerous times in the Düsseldorfer Tonhalle with the Düsseldorf Chamber Orchestra and other orchestras in the 1980's.
After the fall of the Berlin wall and the opening of the border between West and East Germany, Christian Bauschke was invited east to perform with local orchestras.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mozart's death in 1991, Christian Bauschke performed Mozart's piano concerto in c-minor, KV 491, with the Philharmonia Hungarica.
In 1995 he received an invitation to Namibia where he performed Rimsky-Korsakov's piano concerto in c-sharp-minor, op. 30, with the Namibia National Symphony Orchestra in the National Theatre of Namibia, Windhoek.
He has performed in Bavaria with the Collegium Musicum Salzburg numerous times in various concert series.
Following a concert with the orchestra of the "Internationale Musiktage Gmunden 2006", Christian Bauschke received the soloist's prize of the "Internationale Musiktage Gmunden 2006" for outstanding artistic achievement.
His concert-repertoire with orchestras includes not only concertos, but also concert pieces by Haydn, Mozart, Liszt, Grieg, Schumann, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Saint-Saëns and Rimsky-Korsakov. top
Piano Recitals and Chamber Music
Christian Bauschke has given a considerable number of solo and chamber music concerts throughout Europe and in other regions of the world.
In 1992, he toured Chile performing seven concerts of chamber music - a tour organised by a cultural institution.
His solo recital tours of Namibia (Windhoek and Swakopmund) and South Africa (Cape Town) in 2006 were a great success.
Highlights include the following solo evenings and festivals:
1989 Festival der Stadt Hallein
1998 Schlesisches Musikfestival in Brzeg (Brieg)
2001 Festival in Hellbrunn during the Salzburg Festival
2005 International Festival Jávea in Spain
Christian Bauschke gave solo performances during the Festival "toujours Mozart" in Salzburg and Prague (2002/2003), performed piano recitals in Munich (Stadtmuseum and the Gasteig), Vienna (Bösendorfer Hall), Baden-Baden and Frankfurt.
Bauschke was interviewed for a one-hour radio 'portrait' by ORF, Austria's national broadcaster, and has also been part of radio productions with WDR and SWF. top
Christian Bauschke has concentrated much of his concert activity in Salzburg, the birth place of Mozart. Particularly partial to Mozart, he has played in the annual "Mozart-Matinées" since 1991, later known as the "Salzburg Kammermusikfeste" (chamber music festivals), that took place in the Salzburg Residenz during the Salzburg Festival. Bauschke performed here as part of chamber groups or as an accompanist for Lied.
In 1997 he also accompanied Lied in a series of concerts to honour Franz Schubert's 200th birthday.
From 1994 to 1998, Christian Bauschke organised and performed in the musical component of the Salzburg concert series entitled "Literature and Music in Corso".
Another notable accomplishment is his 167 piano recitals of Mozart's piano sonatas performed during the Salzburg concert series "Mozart Piano Sonatas" in the Romanischer Saal of St. Peters between 2003 and 2006.
In the summer of 2007, Bauschke performed in his own concert series at the Salzburg Baroque Museum with the string quartet "Orangerie Quartett". They performed Mozart's piano concertos KV 413, 414, and 415 in the original versions for piano and string quartet, authorised by the composer himself.
During the Salzburg Festival 2007 opening concerts, Bauschke performed Mozart's Piano Concerto in A-Major, KV 414, with the "Orangerie Quartett". top
Concerts on the Fortepiano (Hammerklavier)
Christian Bauschke's interest in historical performance practice led to the inclusion of performances on the fortepiano within the overall scope of his artistic activities.
Evidence to this are two fortepiano recitals in the Salzburg Museum in the context of the opening of the grand exhibition "Viva! MOZART" during the Mozart Year 2006.
An extraordinary opportunity presented itself for him to play on W. A. Mozart's original fortepiano in two performances in Mozart's birthplace.
In the Salzburg Historic Musical Instruments Museum, he was offered the chance to give a concert on the original instrument which belonged to Michael Haydn.
In 2008, he organized a series of six concerts in the Salzburg Museum on a fortepiano built by the Salzburg instrument maker, Joseph Schmid (1791 - 1829). In the process, he brought re-discovered piano music by significant contemporaries of W. A. Mozart to the attention of an interested audience.
His performance in a concert on the early fortepiano within the context of the opening festivities of the Salzburg Festival, 2008, was received with much acclaim.
A further highlight of his activities on the early fortepiano was the invitation to join forces with two solo programs for the Austria-wide, "Long Nights at the Museum" organized by the Austrian Radio Broadcasting Company. top
