Studies
Christian Bauschke was born in 1954 in Nordhausen/Thüringen and raised
in Rheinland, Germany. He received his first piano lessons from his father,
a church musician, and then continued his piano studies with Prof. Bernhard
Roderburg in Düsseldorf
at the "Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule". Here he also gave his
debut as pianist at age 18.
Bauschke participated in Prof. Winfried Wolf's summer master classes offered at the Mozarteum's 'International Summer Academy' and then continued his studies at the Mozarteum from 1976-1981 under the tutelage of Prof. Gilbert Schuchter.
In 1981 Bauschke received his "Konzertdiplom", or master's degree, in piano. During and after his studies he attended numerous master classes given by well-known pianists including the Russian pianist Oleg Maisenberg as a part of the Vienna Master Classes.
